# First steps: My family and my day

> Master talking about your day by listening to Sveta and Ruslan's conversation about work and family. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** The pavement outside a nursery in Moscow at three in the afternoon, with parents waiting for the doors to open. Sveta and Ruslan stand next to each other most days and today they start talking. They are on familiar terms with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying what you do for work

Sveta and Ruslan find out what the other does for a living.

### 2. Talking about your children

Sveta and Ruslan say how many children they each have.

### 3. Saying who you live with

Ruslan tells Sveta who is at home, and she does the same.

### 4. Saying what time you get up

Ruslan asks Sveta what time her day starts.

### 5. Saying where you eat meals

Sveta and Ruslan compare where they eat during the day.

### 6. Talking about your evening

Ruslan tells Sveta he works evenings and goes to bed late.

### 7. Meeting the children after nursery

The children come out, and Sveta and Ruslan say goodbye.
