# First steps: My family and my day

> Master talking about your day by listening to Marta and Karim's conversation about work and family. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** The pavement outside a nursery in Warsaw at three in the afternoon, with parents waiting for the doors to open. Marta and Karim stand next to each other most days and today they start talking. They use ty with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying what you do for work

Marta and Karim find out what the other does for a living.

### 2. Talking about your children

Marta and Karim say how many children they each have.

### 3. Saying who you live with

Karim tells Marta who is at home, and she does the same.

### 4. Saying what time you get up

Karim asks Marta what time her day starts.

### 5. Saying where you eat meals

Marta and Karim compare where they eat during the day.

### 6. Talking about your evening

Karim tells Marta he works evenings and goes to bed late.

### 7. Meeting the children after nursery

The children come out, and Marta and Karim say goodbye.
