# First steps: Where I'm from

> Listen in as Lena and Diego talk about where they come from in real, everyday Dutch. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** A bus stop on a busy street in Lombok in Utrecht on a weekday morning. Lena, who is from Berlin, waits here every day, and today Diego starts talking to her. They use je with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying which country you're from

Lena and Diego get talking at the bus stop and find out they are from different countries.

### 2. Saying which city you're from

Lena and Diego name the cities they grew up in.

### 3. Saying where you live now

Lena and Diego discover they both live in Utrecht.

### 4. Saying which street you live on

Lena and Diego work out that they live a couple of streets apart.

### 5. Saying which languages you speak

Lena and Diego compare the languages they each speak.

### 6. Talking about countries you know

Diego and Lena find out which of each other's countries they know.

### 7. Saying where your family lives

Diego and Lena say where their families are.
