# First steps: My family and my day

> Master talking about your day by listening to Yara and Mo's conversation about work and family. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** The pavement outside a nursery in Berlin at three in the afternoon, with parents waiting for the doors to open. Yara and Mo stand next to each other most days and today they start talking. They use du with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying what you do for work

Yara and Mo find out what the other does for a living.

### 2. Talking about your children

Yara and Mo say how many children they each have.

### 3. Saying who you live with

Mo tells Yara who is at home, and she does the same.

### 4. Saying what time you get up

Mo asks Yara what time her day starts.

### 5. Saying where you eat meals

Yara and Mo compare where they eat during the day.

### 6. Talking about your evening

Mo tells Yara he works evenings and goes to bed late.

### 7. Meeting the children after nursery

The children come out, and Yara and Mo say goodbye.
