# First steps: My family and my day

> Master talking about your day by listening to Fatima and Simon's conversation about work and family. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** The pavement outside a daycare in Montréal at three in the afternoon, with parents waiting for the doors to open. Fatima and Simon stand next to each other most days and today they start talking. They are on tu with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying what you do for work

Fatima and Simon find out what the other does for a living.

### 2. Talking about your children

Fatima and Simon say how many children they each have.

### 3. Saying who you live with

Simon tells Fatima who is at home, and she does the same.

### 4. Saying what time you get up

Simon asks Fatima what time her day starts.

### 5. Saying where you eat meals

Fatima and Simon say where they eat lunch (dîner) and breakfast (déjeuner).

### 6. Talking about your evening

Simon tells Fatima he works evenings and goes to bed late.

### 7. Meeting the children after daycare

The children come out, and Fatima and Simon say goodbye.
