# First steps: What I like

> Join Marina and Kostya for a Sunday morning of tasting things at the market, one short conversation at a time. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** A Sunday flea market in Moscow, food stalls at one end and secondhand things at the other. Marina and Kostya have been friends since school and come here most weeks. They are on familiar terms with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying something tastes good

Marina gives Kostya something to try and he loves it.

### 2. Saying you don't like something

Marina and Kostya disagree about the soup, which he finds too salty.

### 3. Saying something is too expensive

Kostya and Marina find a picture they both like, until they hear the price.

### 4. Talking about music and films

Marina and Kostya find they agree about music but not about films.

### 5. Saying you don't like football

Kostya loves football and Marina wants nothing to do with it.

### 6. Agreeing with someone

Marina and Kostya discover they both cook and both dislike shopping.

### 7. Making a plan with a friend

Kostya and Marina decide to cook together.
