# First steps: Buying clothes

> Master shopping for clothes by listening to Alva and Jonas's conversation about finding the right size. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** A small clothes shop in Gamla Väster in Malmö on a quiet afternoon. Alva came in to look around and Jonas is the only person working. They use du with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Browsing without buying

Jonas offers to help, Alva says she is only looking, and then she spots a jumper.

### 2. Saying what size you are

Jonas looks for Alva's size and finds one at the back.

### 3. Asking for another colour

Alva asks for the jumper in blue, and settles for black.

### 4. Asking to try something on

Alva asks to try the jumper on, and Jonas points out the changing room.

### 5. Saying something is too big

The medium is too big, so Jonas fetches Alva a small.

### 6. Saying something fits well

Alva tells Jonas the smaller jumper is just right.

### 7. Buying what you chose

Alva buys the jumper and Jonas bags it up.
