# First steps: Buying clothes

> Master shopping for clothes by listening to Clara and Víctor's conversation about finding the right size. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** A small clothes shop on a side street in Madrid on a quiet afternoon. Clara came in to look around with no plan to buy anything and Víctor is alone in the shop. They use tú with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Browsing without buying

Víctor offers to help, Clara says she is only looking, and then she spots a shirt.

### 2. Saying what size you are

Víctor looks for Clara's size and finds one at the back.

### 3. Asking for another colour

Clara asks Víctor what colours the shirt comes in.

### 4. Asking to try something on

Clara asks to try the shirt on, and Víctor points out the changing room.

### 5. Saying something is too big

The shirt is too big, so Víctor fetches Clara a smaller one.

### 6. Saying something fits well

Clara tells Víctor the smaller shirt is just right.

### 7. Buying what you chose

Clara buys the shirt and Víctor bags it up.
