# First steps: Buying clothes

**Language:** French
**CEFR Level:** A1

> Master shopping for clothes by listening to Chantal and Marc-André's conversation about finding the right size. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** A small clothes shop on a side street in Québec City on a quiet afternoon. Chantal came in to look around and Marc-André is the only person working. Both hold vous throughout.

## Lessons

### 1. Browsing without buying

Marc-André offers to help, Chantal says she is only looking, and then she spots a top.

### 2. Saying what size you are

Marc-André says he has no medium, then finds one.

### 3. Asking for another colour

Chantal asks for the top in blue, and Marc-André tells her what he has.

### 4. Asking to try something on

Chantal asks to try the top on, and Marc-André points out the changing room.

### 5. Saying something is too big

The medium is too big, so Marc-André fetches Chantal a small.

### 6. Saying something fits well

Chantal tells Marc-André the smaller top is just right.

### 7. Buying what you chose

Chantal buys the top and Marc-André bags it up.
