# First steps: Buying clothes

> Master shopping for clothes by listening to Reem and Hassan's conversation about finding the right size. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** A small clothes shop on a side street in Luxor on a quiet afternoon. Reem came in to look around and Hassan is the only person working. Both speak to each other politely throughout.

## Lessons

### 1. Browsing without buying

Hassan offers to help, Reem says she is only looking, and then she spots a shirt.

### 2. Saying what size you are

Hassan says he has no medium, then finds one.

### 3. Asking for another colour

Reem asks for the shirt in blue, and Hassan tells her what he has.

### 4. Asking to try something on

Reem asks to try the shirt on, and Hassan points out the changing room.

### 5. Saying something is too big

The medium is too big, so Hassan fetches Reem a small.

### 6. Saying something fits well

Reem tells Hassan the smaller shirt is just right.

### 7. Buying what you chose

Reem buys the shirt and Hassan bags it up.
