# First steps: Buying clothes

> Master shopping for clothes by listening to Camila and Óscar's conversation about finding the right size. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** A small clothes shop on a side street in Lima on a quiet afternoon. Camila came in to look around with no plan to buy anything and Óscar is alone in the shop. They use usted with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Browsing without buying

Óscar offers to help, Camila says she is only looking, and then she spots a shirt.

### 2. Saying what size you are

Óscar looks for Camila's size and finds one at the back.

### 3. Asking for another colour

Camila asks Óscar what colours the shirt comes in.

### 4. Asking to try something on

Camila asks to try the shirt on, and Óscar points out the changing room.

### 5. Saying something is too big

The medium is too big, so Óscar fetches Camila a small.

### 6. Saying something fits well

Camila tells Óscar the smaller shirt is just right.

### 7. Buying what you chose

Camila buys the shirt and Óscar bags it up.
