# First steps: Buying clothes

> Master shopping for clothes by listening to Iris and Daan's conversation about finding the right size. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** A small clothes shop in Katendrecht in Rotterdam on a quiet afternoon. Iris came in to look around and Daan is the only person working. They use je with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Browsing without buying

Daan offers to help, Iris says she is only looking, and then she spots a T-shirt.

### 2. Saying what size you are

Daan looks for Iris's size and finds one at the back.

### 3. Asking for another colour

Iris asks Daan what colours the T-shirt comes in.

### 4. Asking to try something on

Iris asks to try the T-shirt on, and Daan points out the changing room.

### 5. Saying something is too big

The medium is too big, so Daan fetches Iris a small.

### 6. Saying something fits well

Iris tells Daan the smaller T-shirt is just right.

### 7. Buying what you chose

Iris buys the T-shirt and Daan bags it up.
