# Nuovo Espresso 1, Unit 8: At the deli counter

**Language:** Italian
**CEFR Level:** A1

> Listen in as Samuel and Bruna talk ham, cheese and tortellini at a deli counter in Modena, in real, everyday Italian, pairing with the themes of unit 8 of Nuovo Espresso 1. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** An old alimentari in the centre of Modena on a Saturday morning in November, with hams over the counter and fresh pasta made in the back. Samuel has friends coming to dinner tomorrow and wants to cook something typical; Bruna has run the shop for forty years. They use Lei with each other.
