# Nederlands in gang 8: Viewing a flat

> Listen in as Marta and Jesse walk through a flat in Amersfoort in real, everyday Dutch, pairing with the themes of chapter 8 of Nederlands in gang. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** A small upstairs flat near the old town of Amersfoort on a weekday evening. Jesse is moving out next month and shows Marta around; she starts a new job in Amersfoort soon. They use je with each other from the first line.

## Lessons

Marta arrives at the door and Jesse lets her in.

### 2. Being shown around

Jesse shows Marta the living room and the kitchen.

### 3. Asking where things are

Marta asks Jesse where the bathroom and the washing machine are.

### 4. Asking which furniture stays

Marta asks Jesse which furniture belongs to him and which stays in the flat.

### 5. Asking about the rent

Marta asks Jesse what the rent is and what it includes.

### 6. Asking about the neighbourhood

Marta asks Jesse if the street is quiet and where the shops are.

### 7. Saying what you think

Marta tells Jesse she likes the flat but wants to think about it, and they agree to talk tomorrow.
