**Language:** German

> Join Selin and Philipp for a late-night check-in at a small hotel in Heidelberg, one short conversation at a time, pairing with the themes of unit 16 of Menschen A1.2. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** The reception of a small hotel in Heidelberg's old town at eleven on a Tuesday night in November. Selin Kaya is in town for a conference; her train was an hour late. Philipp, the night receptionist, checks her in. Twenty minutes later she is back at the desk: the heating in her room doesn't work, and she has an appointment at eight the next morning, only half an hour after breakfast starts. They use Sie with each other throughout, and he calls her Frau Kaya.
