# Lunch with the In-Laws

**Setting:** At a traditional trattoria in Rome's Testaccio neighborhood, Federica is arranging a family lunch for her partner's parents while Stefano manages the floor and takes orders. Over the course of the afternoon, they discuss table reservations, classic Roman menus, and proper coffee etiquette after eating.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking for a restaurant recommendation

Stefano greets Federica and seats her party of four. Federica asks for a menu suggestion, and Stefano recommends the carbonara.

### 2. Ordering main courses

Federica asks about the carbonara ingredients before ordering four main dishes. Stefano then takes her order for water.

### 3. Ordering coffee after a meal

Stefano asks Federica to choose between still or sparkling water. Federica tries to order cappuccinos, but Stefano advises having espresso after lunch instead.
