**Setting:** At Giovanni's bustling neighborhood bar near the piazza in Bologna, regular customer Francesca drops by throughout the week during her daily errands. Over coffee and lunch, their routine daily chats cover classic practical scenarios from directions and train times to ordering food and making weekend plans.

### 1. Greeting a friend

Francesca greets Giovanni at the cafe and asks how he is doing today.
