# First steps in British English for complete beginners

> Listen in as Grace and Harry talk about their lives, hobbies, and reasons for learning languages in real, everyday English. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** Grace and Harry meet in the breakfast room of a cosy B&B near Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow's West End. Over the course of a fortnight, they chat each morning about their daily plans, backgrounds, and why they are both learning new languages.

## Lessons

### 1. Greeting people and introducing yourself

Grace and Harry greet each other warmly and introduce themselves by name.

### 2. Saying where you are from

Grace and Harry ask each other about their hometowns and where they come from in the UK.

### 3. Asking someone to repeat something
