# Édito A2, Unit 8: Talking about series and podcasts

> Listen in as Emma and Samuel argue about a new series at the coffee machine in real, everyday French, pairing with the themes of unit 8 of Édito A2. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** The coffee machine of an office in Reims on a Monday morning. Emma watched a whole new science-fiction series over the weekend; Samuel watched three episodes and gave up. They use tu with each other, as colleagues do here.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking what someone watched

Emma asks Samuel if he has watched the new series, and admits she watched it all in one weekend.

### 2. Giving a bad review

Samuel found the series too slow and stopped, and Emma loved it for the actors.

### 3. Saying what you prefer

Samuel prefers podcasts, and tells Emma which ones he listens to on the train.

### 4. Saying what interests you

Emma loves history too, and Samuel is most interested in the Middle Ages.

### 5. Recommending something

Samuel tells Emma she has to listen to his favourite podcast and sends her the link.

### 6. Asking if TV will disappear

Emma asks whether TV is going to disappear, and Samuel doesn't think so.

### 7. Saying where you get the news

Emma and Samuel both read the news on social media, but Samuel always checks it in a newspaper.
