# Édito A2, Unit 3: Visiting a flat to rent

**Language:** French
**CEFR Level:** A2

> Join Mehdi and Lina for a flat visit in Nancy, one short conversation at a time, pairing with the themes of unit 3 of Édito A2. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** A two-room flat near the station in Nancy on a Wednesday evening in late August. Lina, the tenant, is moving out for a job in another city and shows Mehdi round. He starts a master's degree in September and has been looking for a flat for three weeks. They use tu with each other, as people their age do.

## Lessons

### 1. Being shown round

Lina lets Mehdi in and shows him the living room and the kitchen.

### 2. Saying you're disappointed

Mehdi finds the flat smaller than in the photos and says so, and Lina asks him to wait for the bedroom.

### 3. Describing a room

Lina shows Mehdi the bedroom, her favourite room, which looks onto a quiet courtyard.

### 4. Asking about the rent

Mehdi asks Lina what the rent is and whether the electricity is included.

### 5. Comparing places to live

Lina compares the flat with the old town, and tells Mehdi the bus is right outside.

### 6. Comforting someone

Mehdi is tired of looking, and Lina tells him not to worry and what the neighbourhood has.

### 7. Talking about conditions

Lina offers to leave Mehdi her sofa if he takes the flat, and he says he'll call the landlady tomorrow.
