# Édito A1, Unit 4: Getting around by tram

**Language:** French
**CEFR Level:** A1

> Listen in as Océane and Romain talk about getting around Montpellier in real, everyday French, pairing with the themes of unit 4 of Édito A1. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** A tram stop near the office in Montpellier on a weekday around six, the evening still warm. Océane started her job last week and has just moved here from Brest. Romain, a colleague who grew up in Montpellier, waits with her. They use tu with each other, as colleagues their age do.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking which tram someone takes

Océane and Romain wait at the stop after work and say which lines they take home.

### 2. Describing your neighbourhood

Océane asks Romain what his neighbourhood is like, and how far it is from the centre.

### 3. Saying how often you do something

Romain always takes the tram and never drives, and Océane doesn't have a car anyway.

### 4. Asking the way

Océane asks how to get to the market, and Romain tells her where to get off and which way to walk.

### 5. Understanding a route

Romain explains to Océane how to get to the beach by tram and bus, or by bike.

### 6. Giving a reason

Océane asks Romain why he doesn't cycle to work himself, and he tells her why.

### 7. Saying see you tomorrow

Romain's tram arrives first, and he and Océane say goodbye until tomorrow.
