# Édito A1, Unit 2: Small talk at a wedding

> Join Chloé and Adrien for small talk at a wedding dinner, one short conversation at a time, pairing with the themes of unit 2 of Édito A1. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** The dinner after a wedding at a vineyard near Bordeaux, on a warm Saturday evening in June, round tables in a big tent. Chloé, the bride's cousin, and Adrien, the groom's friend from school, are seated next to each other and have never met. They use tu with each other from the first line.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying how you know the couple

Chloé and Adrien sit down at the same table and find out how each of them knows the couple.

### 2. Saying where you live

Adrien lives in Bordeaux, and Chloé has come from Toulouse.

### 3. Talking about jobs

Chloé is a nurse, and Adrien is a musician who is playing at the wedding tonight. Chloé's sister is a musician too.

### 4. Pointing out your family

Chloé points out her parents and her sister's family to Adrien across the tent.

### 5. Saying you're single

Chloé asks Adrien if his girlfriend is here, and it turns out they are both single.

### 6. Saying what you like

Adrien asks Chloé if she likes dancing, and they don't agree.

### 7. Agreeing to dance

Chloé asks Adrien to dance, and he says yes to one dance, for Julie and Benoît.
