# Dieci A1, Unit 7: On the ferry to Sardinia

> Join Noemi and Mathieu on the night ferry to Sardinia, one short conversation at a time, pairing with the themes of unit 7 of Dieci A1. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** The deck of the night ferry from Livorno to Olbia on 31 July, as it leaves the port. Mathieu is going to Sardinia for the first time; Noemi, a student from Perugia, goes every summer. They have just met and use tu with each other, as young travellers do.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking if it's someone's first time

Noemi asks Mathieu if this is his first time in Sardinia, and tells him she goes every summer.

### 2. Saying where you went last summer

Mathieu asks Noemi where she went last year, and she tells him about the campsite.

### 3. Saying what you did there

Noemi tells Mathieu what she did at Cala Gonone.

### 4. Asking what the weather's like

Mathieu asks about the weather on the island, and Noemi tells him how hot it was yesterday.

### 5. Asking how to get somewhere

Mathieu is going on to Cagliari, and Noemi tells him how to get there and how long it takes.

### 6. Giving the date

Mathieu has lost track of the days, and Noemi tells him the date.

### 7. Saying goodnight

Noemi goes to sleep, and they agree to meet for breakfast before the ferry arrives.
