# Dieci A1, Unit 6: Making plans for the weekend

> Listen in as Elisa calls Filippo to plan a night at the cinema in real, everyday Italian, pairing with the themes of unit 6 of Dieci A1. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** A phone call on a Thursday evening in Pisa. Elisa calls Filippo, a friend from university, to suggest the cinema at the weekend. He works late in a restaurant on Fridays. They use tu with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Answering the phone

Filippo picks up, and he and Elisa ask how each other is.

### 2. Saying no to an invitation

Elisa suggests the cinema tomorrow, Friday, and Filippo can't because he always works on Fridays.

### 3. Suggesting another day

Elisa suggests Saturday instead, and Filippo says yes.

### 4. Saying what you like

Filippo and Elisa find out they like the same kind of films, and both dislike horror.

### 5. Saying how often

Elisa asks Filippo if he goes to the cinema much, and they compare their Saturday nights.

### 6. Fixing a time and place

Filippo and Elisa agree to meet at nine outside the cinema.

### 7. Asking about other friends

Elisa and Filippo decide who invites which of their friends.
