# First steps: My family and my day

> Master talking about your day by listening to Yasemin and Volkan's conversation about work and family. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** The pavement outside a primary school in Kadıköy, İstanbul, at half past three, with parents waiting for the doors. Yasemin and Volkan stand next to each other most days and today they start talking. They are on sen with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying what you do for work

Yasemin and Volkan find out what the other does for a living.

### 2. Talking about your children

Volkan and Yasemin say how many children they each have.

### 3. Saying who you live with

Volkan tells Yasemin who is at home, and she does the same.

### 4. Saying what time you get up

Volkan asks Yasemin what time her day starts.

### 5. Saying where you eat meals

Yasemin and Volkan compare where they eat during the day.

### 6. Talking about your evening

Volkan tells Yasemin he works evenings and goes to bed late.

### 7. Meeting the children after school

The children come out, and Yasemin and Volkan say goodbye.
