# First steps: My family and my day

> Master talking about your day by listening to Fatou and Sami's conversation about work and family. It may feel challenging at first, but by the end of this course you will be able to fully understand and participate.

**Setting:** The pavement outside a nursery in Lyon at three in the afternoon, with parents waiting for the doors to open. Fatou and Sami stand next to each other most days and today they start talking. They use tu with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Saying what you do for work

Fatou and Sami find out what the other does for a living.

### 2. Talking about your children

Fatou and Sami say how many children they each have.

### 3. Saying who you live with

Sami tells Fatou who is at home, and she does the same.

### 4. Saying what time you get up

Sami asks Fatou what time her day starts.

### 5. Saying where you eat meals

Fatou and Sami compare where they eat during the day.

### 6. Talking about your evening

Sami tells Fatou he works evenings and goes to bed late.

### 7. Meeting the children after nursery

The children come out, and Fatou and Sami say goodbye.
