# First steps: What time, what day

> Join Can and Ceren for opening times and an appointment, one short conversation at a time. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** The front desk of a small hairdresser's in Kadıköy, İstanbul, quiet in the middle of the afternoon. Can has walked in off the street and Ceren is on the desk. They use siz with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking what time a shop opens

Can asks Ceren what time the shop opens.

### 2. Asking what time it closes

Can asks Ceren about closing time and hears about Saturdays.

### 3. Checking which days are open

Can asks Ceren which days the shop is open.

### 4. Finding out about Sunday closing

Can checks with Ceren whether they ever open on a Sunday.

### 5. Asking for an appointment tomorrow

Can asks Ceren for an appointment tomorrow and she offers two times.

### 6. Agreeing on a time

Ceren offers Can half past three instead and he takes it.

### 7. Giving your name for a booking

Ceren asks Can for his name and reads the booking back.
