# First steps: What time, what day

**Setting:** The doorway of a small hairdresser in Cedofeita in Porto in the late afternoon. Pedro walks past every day and finally stops to ask; Céu is tidying up between customers. Both hold the polite form throughout.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking what time a shop opens

Pedro stops at the hairdresser and asks Céu what time she opens.

### 2. Asking what time it closes

Pedro asks Céu what time the shop closes.

### 3. Checking which days are open

Pedro checks with Céu which days the shop is open.

### 4. Finding out about Sunday closing

Céu tells Pedro the shop is closed on Sunday and shuts early on Saturday.

### 5. Asking for an appointment tomorrow

Pedro asks Céu for an appointment tomorrow afternoon.

### 6. Agreeing on a time

Three is busy, so Céu offers two later slots and Pedro picks one.

### 7. Giving your name for a booking

Céu takes Pedro's name and reads the appointment back.
