# First steps: What time, what day

**Setting:** The doorway of a small hairdresser's in Bogotá in the late afternoon. Mateo walks past every day and has finally stopped to ask; Gloria is tidying up between customers. They use usted with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking what time a shop opens

Mateo stops at the hairdresser's and asks Gloria what time she opens.

### 2. Asking what time it closes

Mateo asks Gloria what time the shop closes.

### 3. Checking which days are open

Mateo checks with Gloria which days the shop is open.

### 4. Finding out about Sunday closing

Gloria tells Mateo the shop is closed on Sunday and shuts early on Saturday.

### 5. Asking for an appointment tomorrow

Mateo asks Gloria for an appointment tomorrow afternoon.

### 6. Agreeing on a time

Three is busy, so Gloria offers Mateo a quarter past instead.

### 7. Giving your name for a booking

Gloria takes Mateo's name and they agree on Thursday.
