# First steps: What time, what day

> Join Rose and Lucas for opening times and an appointment, one short conversation at a time. Each lesson trains your ear until you can follow every word and answer back.

**Setting:** The doorway of a small hairdresser in Lyon in the late afternoon. Lucas walks past every day and finally stops to ask; Rose is tidying up between customers. Both hold vous throughout.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking what time a shop opens

Lucas stops at the hairdresser and asks Rose what time she opens.

### 2. Asking what time it closes

Lucas asks Rose what time the shop closes.

### 3. Checking which days are open

Lucas checks with Rose which days the shop is open.

### 4. Finding out about Sunday closing

Rose tells Lucas the shop is closed on Sunday and shuts early on Saturday.

### 5. Asking for an appointment tomorrow

Lucas asks Rose for an appointment tomorrow afternoon.

### 6. Agreeing on a time

Three is busy, so Rose offers Lucas a quarter past instead.

### 7. Giving your name for a booking

Rose takes Lucas's name and reads the appointment back.
