# First steps: What time, what day

**Setting:** The doorway of a small barbershop in Chicago in the late afternoon. Leo walks past every day and finally stops to ask; Rosa is tidying up between customers.

## Lessons

### 1. Asking what time a shop opens

Leo stops at the barbershop and asks Rosa what time she opens.

### 2. Asking what time it closes

Leo asks Rosa what time the shop closes.

### 3. Checking which days are open

Leo checks with Rosa which days the shop is open.

### 4. Finding out about Sunday closing

Rosa tells Leo the shop is closed on Sunday and shuts early on Saturday.

### 5. Asking for an appointment tomorrow

Leo asks Rosa for an appointment tomorrow afternoon.

### 6. Agreeing on a time

Three is busy, so Rosa offers Leo a quarter past instead.

### 7. Giving your name for a booking

Rosa takes Leo's name and they agree on Thursday.
