# First steps: Where is it?

> Listen in as Nour and Sven talk through the way to the station in real, everyday Swedish. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** A street corner in Stockholm a few streets from the park, late morning. Nour is in the city for two days and stops Sven, who has lived on this street all his life. They use du with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Stopping someone to ask directions

Nour stops Sven in the street to ask the way to the station.

### 2. Asking how far somewhere is

Nour asks Sven whether the station is far.

### 3. Following directions to the station

Nour asks Sven to repeat, and he adds the next step.

### 4. Locating a bank by landmarks

Nour works out with Sven where the bank is.

### 5. Saying what is behind something

Nour and Sven work out that the station is behind the hotel.

### 6. Asking where the toilet is

Nour asks Sven where the toilet is.

### 7. Thanking someone for their help

Nour thanks Sven for his help and they part.
