# First steps: Where is it?

> Listen in as Daniela and Hernán talk through the way to the station in real, everyday Spanish. By the end of this course their conversation will feel easy to follow, and you'll be ready to join in.

**Setting:** A street corner in Bogotá next to a bank and a café, late in the morning. Daniela is in the city for two days and stops Hernán, who has lived on this street all his life. They use usted with each other.

## Lessons

### 1. Stopping someone to ask directions

Daniela stops Hernán in the street to ask the way to the station.

### 2. Asking how far somewhere is

Daniela asks Hernán how long the walk takes.

### 3. Following directions to the station

Hernán gives Daniela the directions twice, slowly.

### 4. Locating a bank by landmarks

Daniela works out with Hernán where the bank is.

### 5. Working out where the station is

Daniela and Hernán work out that the station is in front of the park.

### 6. Asking where the toilet is

Daniela asks Hernán where she can find a toilet.

### 7. Thanking someone for their help

Daniela thanks Hernán for his help and they part.
